Safelists are basically email advertising programs.
Much like traffic exchanges, you will be sending your ad to
hundreds or thousands at the same time. Safelists are a tiny bit more
complicated, though.
Rather than showing a “splash page” which is just a large
graphic ad, you will be sending an email out with a link to a splash
page. This gives you an opportunity to explain what the offer is
before a person actually gets to a website.
Safelists work on the same principle as the exchanges. You will
get an email, click on the link (usually it will tell you explicitly
which link to click to get your credits!!! Watch for THAT link!). The
link will take you to a site that you will be viewing for up to 30
seconds (usually more like 10, though).
After the site has been visible for the number of seconds
required, the icons will be shown, and to get your credits you must
click the correct one.
I currently work with about 10 safelists, but of course I have my
favorites.
Usually, you will be able to send far fewer emails at a list than
you would show splash pages at an exchange, but the click-through
rate is much higher, and more people will investigate your offer than
at an exchange. For the number of emails I send, I have seen more
people become members of my offers through email advertising than
through the exchanges.
Both types of site have their place, though.
My biggest problem with email safelists is that I have also JOINED
a lot more programs!!! Try not to get distracted by these emails and
fancy pages... We are dealing with professional advertisers, and so
must be aware that we are going to want most everything we look at.
You must keep your self discipline in gear.
Another thing you need to know is that every list you join is
going to send you dozens of emails every single day. I have most of
mine sent to my gmail account (even with the changes, I find it
easier to deal with there). And I do mean dozens and I do mean every
single day – 24/7/365 (yes, even Easter and Christmas!).
I am a very active member of 4 lists, 3 of which are sent to
gmail. That account averages 300+ emails PER DAY, every day. It takes
a couple hours to get through everything for all four lists, and then
there are the GPT programs and survey sites to deal with. This can
and will become more than a full time job if you are not careful –
and until you are well known you will not be making full time income.
Keep yourself in line, and drop time-consuming things that do not
pay well!!!
One more thing:
DO NOT fall for the slick promises, and always do your due
diligence before joining anything you need to pay money for. Yes, you
get what you pay for, but if you are hurting for money, don't be
spending it in all the wrong places... Keep what you like in mind,
and see if you still want it a month from now – after your bills
are paid!
In the meantime, your creativity will be challenged in many ways
coming up with text for your emails, but its well worth it in terms
of both training yourself to sell and in gaining new members for your
program or buyers for your offers.
Safelists are better performers than most traffic exchanges, but I
would still concentrate on the free classifieds and free social media
avenues first.
I have listed several safelist programs below that I am or have
been a member of – which have done well for me. I have listed the
best performers - my absolute favorites among the many I've joined.
There are dozens of these
sites out there, but I'd be grateful if you'd join under my links to
get started.
Please note two things:
1: You are automatically given an affiliate link when you sign up so that you can earn cash and credits by promoting the site.
2: Obviously, given the above, if you join through my link, I will receive compensation.
Email Hog
- this is one of my favorite sites... Every so many emails you get a
link for cash earnings. Mostly one or two pennies in addition to the 15
points for clicking the credit link - but - sometimes those rewards are
for $1 or $5!! You can also get text and banner link bonuses. I have
cashed out twice, both time unexpectedly. Its amazing how fast these
guys add up!
InstaBucks Mailz
- OK, I admit it... I joined this one because I love the graphics.
However, this is a stellar program and offers a ton of benefits! I have
gotten quite a bit of traffic to different offers here, and there are
tons of free ways to earn advertising credits. This site also allows you
to purchase solo ads with your points instead of only selling them for
cash.
List Joe
- This is another one of my favorites. I don't join many of these sites
because you wind up with 1000 emails every day. List Joe has been
really good to me, and I've gotten a lot of sign ups. They also allow
you to send out more emails using points than other programs - 1000 at a
time for my account.
I'll be reviewing these sites on
separate posts, but if you have any comments, please post them here till
I get the reviews up! THANKS!
